Perhaps insulin shots are needed, or medication injections to prevent blood clots. Maybe injections are warranted as part of a pain management program. Our experienced nurses are here to help administer these medications. ACS nurses:
- Administer injections as frequently as needed
- Administer multiple types of injections prescribed – intramuscular or subcutaneous
- Check any old administration sites before administering a new injection
- Teach patients and family how to administer their own injections (if required)
- Pre-measure medications to prevent dosage errors
- Work with the patient’s doctor to assess treatment and dosage
- Strictly follow the 5 rights of medication administration
Our nurses are trained in injection technique so as to minimize the patient’s discomfort and pain, while following all injection safety protocols.
