Hospice is traditionally an option for people whose life expectancy is six months or less. It involves palliative care rather than ongoing curative measures, enabling an individual to live each day to the fullest, with purpose, dignity, grace and support.
While some hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care facilities provide hospice care onsite, in most cases, hospice is provided in the patient’s own home. The staff at ACS Home Care LLC’s goal is to provide the individual with the opportunity to spend their final days in a familiar, comfortable environment, surrounded by loved ones.
ACS hospice care consists of supplying specialized trained Home Health Aides for other Hospice Licensed Home Care Agencies. ACS Home Care LLC’s hospice care focuses on all aspects of a patient’s life and well-being: physical, social, emotional, and spiritual. There is no age restriction; anyone in the late stages of life is eligible for hospice services. If a physician has certified a patient’s prognosis as not longer than six months, then that patient is eligible for hospice.
Considered to be the model for quality, compassionate care for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury, hospice and palliative care involve a team-oriented approach to expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support expressly tailored to the individual’s needs and wishes.
